Forging Alliances:

Connecting Academic & Community Activism

Saturday, April 28th, 2018  ~ 9am-5pm  ~  Leonard Reading Room, MIKC at UNR

This day-long event will bring community activists and academics together to cultivate dialogue and foster action around issues that affect Northern Nevada. In the morning, attendees will hear from panels that offer academic and activist perspectives on issues such as prison reform, immigration, and housing. In the afternoon, attendees will be invited to participate in collaborative working groups with panelists to build relationships and develop plans for action.

Cost: Free, includes lunch and refreshments (RSVP required)

 

Free parking available in Brian J. Whelan Parking Garage across from the Library

Event support generously provided by the English Department Public Engagement Committee, the Gender, Race, and Identity Program, the Graduate Student Association, and the Composition and Communication in the Disciplines Program.
